Público (Public) is an interactive installation that reflects the number of visits of the exhibition. Using a series of sensors, the artwork is activated and transformed by the physical presence of the spectator. The project collects specific data about the time of visit, the exhibition’s most popular days, or the total number of visits.
The proposal is focused on the social aspect of contemporary art and extends the prominent use of web hit counters at the beginning of the 21st century. In this case, the physical presence of the visitor is translated into a pictorial representation.
